RockJock's narrow forged Johnny Joints for fabricators and suspension system builders offer 40 degrees of unrestricted movement in any direction as compared to 22 degrees on a common heim joint! Johnny Joint rod ends offer cushioning that a heim joint cannot provide via high-density urethane bushing that encases the inner ball. The heat treated center balls are cross-drilled for thru-bolt lubrication and the joint internals are retained with 2 heavy duty, heat treated side washers and a snap ring. This specific joint is a 2 in. diameter, narrow body and features a 9 in. long shank, from CL of joint to end of tip of threads), 3 1/2 in. of 1 in.-14 RH threads and a 1.800 in. wide x 0.630 in. thru-hole center pivot ball. Additional features of the long shank design include the the jam nut being pushed outward, away from the bracket that the joint mounts in to provide more clearance and accessibility to the jam nut. Also, the smooth shank area of the joint may have a bend applied to it in a press to angle the joint for a perfect fit in your application or to gain clearance in tight spots. Joint is externally greasable via a zerk fitting. Finish is gold zinc plating.
RockJock by John Currie's roots run deep as jeeping has been a love of the Currie family for decades. In his off-roading adventures, John pushed the limits of his vehicles coming to the realization of the shortcomings of the equipment. Thus it became John's goal to design and build the best-performing, strongest, most durable products on the market. A Jeep suspension upgrade product line was first developed in the 1980s based around Jeep CJ and YJ vehicles. Fast forward to 1998 and John's off-road passion evolved into rock crawling competitions. In 2001, John Currie took home the 1st place trophy in the Extreme Rock Crawling Championship Series, in a RockJock equipped Jeep TJ Wrangler. This was the first of many victories for John and various RockJock equipped vehicles in numerous rock crawling, Ultra 4 and desert racing championships! RockJock continues to progress and innovate as new platforms of vehicles are introduced. From the JK Wrangler, the JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator, John Currie personally continues to design, build, test, sell, and install the finest, cutting-edge, high-end suspension, steering and towing components available.
